Frequently Asked Questions / FAQs
Q. How does Princeton Windrows differ from
other retirement communities? Is it considered an active adult
retirement community or a continuing care retirement community
(CCRC)?
A. Princeton Windrows is so unique that we have termed “Enhanced
Retirement Living” to describe the lifestyle at this community.
Many people have found the concept very appealing. They explain
that they want to remain in control of their own lives. They discuss
the importance of each resident’s sense of responsibility
and their strong desire to own their own home. Princeton Windrows
is often described as an active adult retirement community with
the beautiful amenities that go along with a luxury community,
and with enhanced services such as club-style dining, health and
wellness, housekeeping, and more.
Furthermore, Princeton Windrows operates under the firm belief
of the concept of unbundled services. By choosing Princeton Windrows,
residents remain in charge of their own lives. Residents live
as they wish within a retirement community that offers the flexibility
to pick, choose, and pay for only the services they required.
Most importantly, because Princeton Windrows does not include
the cost of medical care in your monthly fee, the resident maintains
control of this delivery service. By not subsidizing others’
healthcare services, as in a CCRC concept, our residents are in
control of their own futures.
Q. What types of services and amenities can I expect
at Princeton Windrows?
A. Club-style select dining, housekeeping, landscaping, property
maintenance and security are all provided meaning you can come
and go as you please and you can spend your time on things you
enjoy, rather than on household tasks. Amenities include indoor
pool and spa, computer center, fitness center, walking trails,
greenhouse, garden areas to name a few.
The Wellness Center provides healthcare programming and services
that foster wellbeing and choice, acting as the backbone of the
community’s healthcare programs. A variety of physicians
and specialists hold regular office hours on-site. A registered
nurse is on-site at the center every day of the week and there
is an emergency call system in every residence. The Wellness Center
presents a variety of seminars, clinics and classes, all supporting
its philosophy of its pro-active wellness approach which nurtures
independence and choice. Princeton Windrows also has priority
access agreements with assisted living, rehabilitation, and skilled
nursing facilities for if and when our residents need a higher
level of care in the future and will help facilitate such a transition
if needed.
Q. Does Princeton Windrows offer healthcare to its residents?
A. Princeton Windrows houses a Wellness Center, what has been
structured with care and sensitivity to provide residents every
opportunity to live independently and remain healthy. Unlike a
CCRC, Princeton Windrows offers unbundled services. This means
we do not include the cost of healthcare the monthly fee. You
remain in control of the delivery and the cost of healthcare by
not subsidizing others’ healthcare services; you are the
one in charge of your own lifestyle and choices.
Q. Tell me more about your Wellness Center. What is its
primary purpose?
A. To facilitate the delivery of healthcare services, our Wellness
Center has an on-site registered nurse – available seven
days per week for routine examinations and screenings. Administrative
and security staff trained in emergency care provides additional
support. If you so choose, you may receive healthcare services
in your own home. If needed, we can facilitate your transition
into assisted living, rehabilitation or skilled nursing care,
all of which with whom we have priority access agreements. Or
residents can choose their own. Whichever they choose, we will
support them in their decision.
The Wellness Center offers classes, lectures, and programs to
its residents – all focusing on wellness, retaining independence
and information to keep the mind, spirit and body healthy, vital
and active. A number of qualified local physicians and specialists
hold regular office hours on site.
Q. How is the delivery of these services determined?
And by whom?
A. In a CCRC, it is the sole discretion of the organization to
determine what the most appropriate environment is for an individual.
At Princeton Windrows, it’s your choice. We support your
decision to stay at home as long as possible. We can help you
to receive healthcare services in your own home. However, if you
decide that is no longer in your best interest, we can also facilitate
your transition into assisted living, skilled nursing or rehabilitation.
Princeton Windrows has priority access to many reputable communities
in the immediate area.
